- Always change the oil or fat if it starts to foam when it is heated, if it has a strong smell or taste
or if it turns dark and/or syrupy.
Solid fat
You can also use solid frying fat. In that case, extra precautions are necessary to prevent the fat from
spattering and the heating element from overheating or becoming damaged.
1 Ifyouwanttousenewblocksoffat,meltthemslowlyoveralowheatinanormalpan.
2 Pourthemeltedfatcarefullyintothefryer.
3 Storethefryerwiththeresolidiedfatstillinitatroomtemperature.
4 Ifthefatgetsverycold,itmaystartspatteringwhenitmelts.Punchsomeholesintothe
resolidiedfatwithaforktopreventthis(Fig.5).
Becarefulnottodamagetheinnerbowlwiththefork.
Frying
1 Taketheentirecordfromthecordstoragecompartmentandputthepluginthewall
socket(Fig.6).
2 Foldoutthehandleofthefryingbasket(‘click’)(Fig.7).
You can leave the basket in the fryer while the oil or fat heats up.
3 Removethelid(Fig.3).
4 Toswitchonthefryer,presstheon/offbuttonfor2-3seconds(Fig.8).

5 Pressthetemperaturebuttononeormoretimestosettherequiredtemperature.(Fig.9)

continuously.
6 Whentheoilreachestheselectedtemperature(whichtakes10to15minutes),youhearan
audiblesignalandtheentirethermometersymbolonthedisplayturnsblack.
7 Removethebasketfromthefryerandputthefoodtobefriedinthebasket.
Donotfryverylargequantitiesatonetime.Consultthefoodtableattheendofthisbooklet
(therecommendedquantityisindicatedby-).
Note: Dry ingredients thoroughly before you fry them.
Note: Remove all excess ice from frozen ingredients before you fry them.
8 Carefullyplacethebasketinthebracketontheinsideofthebowl.Donowlowerthebasket
intotheoilorfat(Fig.10).
9 Putthelidonthefryer.
10 Liftthebasketoffthebracketandloweritintotheoilorfat.
During frying, the thermometer symbol on the display may start to ll up again. This indicates that
the heating element switches on and off to maintain the correct temperature.
11 Setthetimertotherequiredfryingtimeandthenpresstheon/offbuttonbrieytoactivate
thetimer(seesection‘Timer’).
